I recommend using acrylic paint to create the handprint, and watercolor paint for the pot as acrylic will occlude the engraving. You may choose to make it a complete kit by adding the optional paint set which includes a small set of six acrylic paints (light pink, blue, green, purple, yellow, and black), set of eight watercolor paints, small brush, and an applicator sponge.
