Learn to Stitch Yarn Embroidery Project

When I look for crafts for my kids, I have a few qualifiers: (1) low mess factor, (2) builds a skill, (3) allows for independent work after we've spent some time on it together. Yarn embroidery checks ALL of those boxes!

This project allows kids (or adults!) to learn the basics of stitching while removing some of the variables associated with fabric. Cut holes provide set spacing to take the focus off of stitch length, allowing them to focus on the mechanics of learning various stiches and working with yarn. Furthermore, the finished project can be displayed or gifted, or the yarn can be removed to practice again and again.

This board offers the opportunity to practice cross stitch, backstitch, whip stitch, and straight stitch in various shapes. A name can be engraved on the top if you wish.

Purchase the board only, or the kit which includes two plastic needles and a set of four yarn colors in your choice of Bright or Soft tones. An instructions sheet is included for reference.
